Computing with Communication Studies

Home   >>   Applied Computing   >>   Undergraduate study   >>   Computing with Communication Studies

Aims of the programme

Information Technology has increasingly been used in various areas of modern society. Modern IT projects and software development require the workforce to be equipped with good communication skills not only within an organisation but also across different organisations and increasingly even across the world. Out-sourcing and collaborative working, with the assistance of the Internet and WWW, mean that the traditional model of a small team of people working in a garage producing operating systems such as MS-DOS is no longer possible nor desirable. This major / minor programme of study aims to produce technically sound computing graduates who are not only good technical developers but also good communicators with skills that enable them to work in a global stage of IT.
