There are excellent modern facilities available to you as students to make studying here much easier. The two areas that will affect you the most are the information technology and library facilities.

Library facilities

Books on library shelves

The University has two libraries, the Hunter Street Library and the Franciscan Library. The Hunter Street Library is situated close to the Business School on the main campus and the Franciscan Library is situated in Verney Park, about a 5 minute walk from the Business School.

Both libraries provide online access to a number of journals and databases, including Computer Abstracts, through a Web-based library catalogue. The Hunter Street Library main subject areas are: Accounting, Business, Economics, History, Politics, Language and Literature. The Library also has a collection of video cassettes and DVDs to support various courses. The Franciscan Library in Verney Park houses a collection of books and journals on Law, Information Systems, Computing and related topics. Both libraries contain highly trained personnel who are extremely student-friendly.

The Anthony de Rothschild (AdR) building houses an open access computer room, available to all students 24-hours per day during term time. There is a large study area on the ground floor with desks, chairs and portable mini-screens so that groups can work together in relative privacy, plus a soft seating area for those times when you need to take a breather. Wireless Internet Access (WIA) is also available in the AdR foyer for those students with their own laptop computers.

Halls Internet Access (HIA) is available in all University student accommodation across campus.
