British Cultural Studies
|
All course participants are carefully matched with local host families who have been selected for their sensitivity towards other cultures and for comfortable home conditions enabling students to be their most productive. The course itself consists of 5 weeks of English language and cultural tuition and a 3 to 4-day independent trip which must be organised by the students themselves in order to ensure that the language learnt during their stay is put into practice. Typical destinations have included Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh, Brighton and the Isle of Wight. On their return students are expected to design a project about their travels or about an aspect of British culture and give a presentation. |

British Cultural
Studies is a bespoke course for students from St Andrews
University, Osaka. These four-and-a-half week courses are held
twice a year (Winter and Summer terms) and offer a mix of English
language and cultural input. There is a well-developed social
programme including day trips to London, Warwick Castle / Stratford
upon Avon and Oxford. In addition, parties and social events are
held which allow students to mix with other nationalities and
cultures from within the University.
